Sokpoe (V/R), May 18, GNA – Madam Victoria Dzeklo, the South Tongu District Chief Executive, has received a donation of 6,000 branded exercise books and 500 mathematical sets from the Volta River Authority (VRA) to support basic education in the enclave.

The presentation was held at Sokpoe D/A Basic School, where the items were handed over for distribution to five beneficiary schools within the district as part of efforts to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

Madam Dzeklo, in a statement, described the intervention as a strategic investment in human capital development, noting that the materials would serve as essential tools to improve academic performance and ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.

She indicated that the inclusion of energy conservation messages in the exercise books would help promote environmental awareness and responsible energy usage among pupils at an early stage.

Madam Dzeklo expressed appreciation to the VRA for the continued partnership, adding that two constituents of South Tongu are currently benefiting from the Authority’s tertiary scholarship scheme.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the District Assembly to deepen collaboration with corporate institutions to ensure sustained support for education and improved learning outcomes across the district.

Management of the Volta River Authority (VRA) said the donation formed part of the Authority’s sustained corporate social responsibility agenda aimed at strengthening access to quality education within its operational enclave and across the country.

The VRA management reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting educational development, stressing that investments in basic education remain critical to building a skilled and productive future workforce.

School authorities and representatives from beneficiary institutions commended the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful, and noted that it would significantly enhance pupil engagement and academic performance.
