Accra, May 18, GNA — Hundreds of Senior High School (SHS) students filled the Calvary Charismatic Centre in Ayigya, Kumasi, for the Fire for Future Conference 2026 (SHS Edition).

The Fire for Future Conference 2026 is a youth development initiative aimed at equipping students with the mindset and tools for purposeful living and career excellence.

Organised by Draema Services and Pedlo Energy in collaboration with the Guidance and Counselling Unit of the Ghana Education Service, Ashanti Region, the conference brought together students, educators, professionals, and industry leaders under one roof, a statement issued by the organisers to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said.

It said, delivering the keynote address, Ing. Dr. Peter Godslove Debrah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pedlo Energy Company Limited, urged students to take ownership of their future by cultivating discipline, vision, and resilience.

It stressed the need to align personal passion with national development and challenged participants to see themselves as agents of change in Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.

“The future is not something distant; it is something we build daily through our choices, habits, and mindset,” it quoted Mr Richmond Ayi D’Almeida, CEO of Draema Services and convener of the conference, saying. The statement noted that the programme was designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications.

It added that the event featured speakers from diverse professional backgrounds who addressed topics including The Five Principles of Life, Gen Z: My Strengths and Challenges, Drugs: My Body, Reaction and Effects, and Driven by Passion and Purpose.

It said speakers included Mr Emil Ameyibor, Programmes Coordinator; Mr Mawuli Asempapah, CEO of 4Heem Print Embassy; Mr Twerenyame Acquaah, Operations and Civil Engineer; and Madam Elizabeth Modupe D’Almeida, Specialist Pharmacist.

According to the statement, a candid session on drug abuse and its long-term consequences drew strong engagement from students, with facilitators emphasising informed decision-making and self-awareness in navigating peer pressure.

It said the conference balanced learning with culture, featuring performances from Ghanaian artistes Adom Kiki and Naamah Atta Yeboah.

It noted that over 50 students participated in a lively question and answer session, raising questions on academic and personal challenges.

“Participants were supported with refreshments from sponsors including Promasidor Ghana Ltd, Nescafé by Nestlé, and LaVonce,” it said.

The day ended with networking.

Organisers thanked the Ghana Education Service, Regional Director Dr William Amankra, Dr Mrs Faustina Opoku-Anyamesem, Ps Joshua Obeng of Calvary Chariamatic Center, partner institutions, sponsors, and volunteers for their support.

It pledged to sustain and expand the initiative to reach more young people nationwide.
