Bechem Paramount Chief advocates investments for economic transformation

Bechem (Ahafo), March 16, GNA – Nana Asiwobour Osei Bonsu III, the Paramount Chief of the Bechem Traditional Area in the Ahafo Region, has called for investments to transform the economic potential in the area for job creation and poverty reduction. 
 
He said the Bechem Traditional Area in the Tano South Municipality of the region, had rich and fertile lands as well as other economic prospects, saying that the people were welcoming and hospitable. 
 
Nana Bonsu made the call at a durbar of chiefs and people of the area to officially outdoor him since he ascended the stool. 
 
The paramount chief is the 23rd occupant of the Asiwobour Stool after succeeding the late Nana Fosu Gyeabour Akoto II who reigned for 23 years. 
 
“Bechem and the surrounding communities are richly endowed with fertile lands very attractive for any viable economic enterprise with very hardworking and highly hospitable people,” Nana Bonsu stated. 
 
He expressed appreciation to the kingmakers in the area for the trust and confidence reposed in him and pledged to serve the people in humility and diligence, and to improve the solid foundations laid by his predecessors. 
 
Nana Bonsu called for support and cooperation from the people, especially the youth, to advance the progressive development of the area, saying, with a formidable front they could bring the development of the area to the next level. 
 
Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem I, the Paramount Chief of the Tepa Traditional Area advised the paramount chief to remain humble and open up for advice and suggestions from the people, urging him to humbly accept constructive criticisms. 
 

“Your critics aren’t your enemies. So be ready to accept constructive criticisms in good faith and your reign will see great progress and prosperity,” he advised.  
 
Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II, the Paramount Queen Mother of the Bechem Traditional Area, Mr Charles Akwasi Asiedu, the Member of Parliament for Tano South and Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, Tano South Municipal Chief Executives attended the event. 
 
The ceremony was presided by Okoforobour Dr Nana Yaw Agyei II, the Paramount Chief of the Mim Traditional Area and the Vice President of the Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs.
