Accra, June 29, GNA – Nutrifoods Ghana Limited has donated food products valued at more than GH¢70,000 to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), to support more than 1,000 people displaced by recent floods in Tema and its surrounding communities.

The donation, made under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, is intended to provide immediate relief to affected families in areas including Klagon, Communities Three, Five and Wolei.

The items comprised cartons of assorted biscuits, boxes of tomato paste and seasoning powders, bags of rice, cartons of Premium Spaghetti as well as its NutriMorn Non-Dairy Creamer.

A statement issued in Accra said Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, a joint venture between Olam International and Sanyo Foods’s gesture, reflected its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities during emergencies, while creating moments of joy through food products that consumers love.

Mrs Marian Sackeyfio, New Business Development and Corporate Affairs Lead of Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, expressed sympathy to families affected by the floods.

She described the devastation caused by the floods as heartbreaking, saying many families had lost their homes, businesses and sources of livelihood and now faced the difficult task of rebuilding their lives.

Mrs Sackeyfio said the donation demonstrated the company’s commitment to communities within its operational areas and its resolve to stand with residents during difficult times.

“At Nutrifoods, we view these flood victims as part of the communities we serve. While this contribution may not fully alleviate the hardship they are experiencing, we hope it will provide some relief and reassurance as they work to recover from this unfortunate situation,” she said.

She added that the donation underscored the company’s dedication to making a positive social impact and supporting national efforts to respond to humanitarian emergencies.

Receiving the items on behalf of NADMO, Mr Dennis Nartey Adjarnor, Greater Accra Regional Director of the Organisation, expressed gratitude to Nutrifoods Ghana Limited for the timely intervention.

He said the donation had come at a critical period when more than 1,000 displaced persons required urgent assistance and noted that the food items would bring relief and hope to many affected households.

Mr Adjarnor commended the company for demonstrating corporate responsibility and stressed the important role of private sector partnerships in strengthening disaster preparedness and emergency response.

He assured the company that the donated items would be distributed fairly and transparently to the affected victims to ensure they received the needed support.
