Accra, April 25, GNA – The Association of Conflict, Peace and Security Experts in Africa (ACPSEA) has lauded the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s role as a champion of peace and national stability.
ACPSEA’s homage comes on the occasion of the celebration marking the 27th anniversary of the King’s ascension to the Golden Stool.
“For nearly three decades, His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has demonstrated visionary and exemplary leadership, using traditional methods, wisdom, diplomacy, and moral influence to resolve conflicts, restore harmony, and promote peaceful co-existence among groups,” ACPSEA noted in a statement signed by its president, Mr Isaac Asare, and copied to the Ghana News Agency.
“Today, ACPSEA proudly joins millions across Africa and the diaspora to proclaim His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the Symbol of Peace in Africa. May his reign continue to inspire generations, strengthen unity, and advance peace across Africa and the world,” it said.
The Association also noted Otumfuo’s successful mediation of chieftaincy disputes, support for democratic stability and interventions in sensitive national matters.
It said his contributions to regional peace efforts have made him a beacon of hope for the entire African continent.
ACPSEA expressed its belief that the Asantehene’s Community Mediation Initiative promises to be a most effective tool for preventing disputes from escalating into violence and for strengthening trust between citizens, traditional institutions, and state agencies.
It, therefore, declared its readiness to offer its expertise “to help make the initiative sustainable, impactful, and replicable across Ghana and Africa.”
