Atronie (Bono), Oct. 4, GNA – Mr Alex Boampong, Chief Executive Officer of Alexiboam Company Limited, has been honoured by the chiefs and people of Atronie in the Sunyani Municipality for his contribution to the development of the community.
At a community durbar, the chiefs and people presented Mr Boampong, a native of the town, with a citation and a cow in recognition of his humanitarian services and support for development.
Nana Amponsem Darko II, the Chief of Atronie, said the community, which owed allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, would remain grateful to Mr Boampong for his support.
“We will forever be grateful to you for not only reshaping and improving access roads, but also your care and love for widows and the vulnerable people in our community and assistance in resolving the chieftaincy dispute at Atronie,” he said.
Nana Darko said the recognition was intended to inspire Mr Boampong to do more for the community and motivate other natives of the town, both home and abroad, to contribute their quota to the development of the area.
Part of the citation read: “Your selflessness, dedication and continuous commitment towards the progressive growth and development of our community cannot go unnoticed.
“Your contributions have made a meaningful difference in the lives of our people and would always be remembered and remain in the archives of Atronie’s development story.”
Mr Boampong expressed appreciation to the chiefs and people for the honour and pledged his continued support for the development of the area.
He said his company, which was executing the government-funded Sunyani-Atronie Road project, would ensure quality work and pledged to reshape some access roads in the township free of charge.
Mr Boampong advised the people to put aside their differences and work collectively to advance the development of the town.
