Targetted killings wont destroy political system-Iranian Misister

Tehran, Feb 17, (dpa/GNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, says his country’s political system remains viable despite the ongoing war.

He said the targeted killing of leaders would not affect it, in an interview published by the news channel Al Jazeera.

“The presence or absence of a single person has no impact on the structure … What is crucial is that the political system in Iran has a very solid structure,” Araghchi said.

He said this was also the case after the killing of supreme leader ayatollah Ali Khamenei by an Israeli airstrike in Tehran: “Even the leader was killed, but the system continued to function and immediately provided a replacement. It will be the same if someone else is killed.”

Even if the foreign minister himself were to be killed, someone else would be ready to take the position, Araghchi said.
