Barekese (Ash) July 13, GNA – All candidates who stood unopposed in New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives’ elections in the Atwima Nwabiagya North constituency of the Ashanti region, have been confirmed by the party delegates.
They are: Abdul Salam Issah, as Chairman, Dorah Peprah, as first vice chairperson, Pius Boateng, as treasurer, Doris Appiah, as women organizer and Ali Ibrahim as Nasara organizer.
In the contest for other positions, Eric Essumang Apraku, obtained 732 votes against 505 of Kwaku Danso, to win the first vice chairman position, whilst Collins Acheampong obtained 961 against 278 of Raphael Osei Owusu, for the Secretary position.
The Organizer position went to Appiagyei, who gained 722 votes as against the 514 votes obtained by Kofi Arhin, his sole contender.
Mr Isaac Owusu had the support of 764 delegates to become the communications officer, after beating Gabriel Twumasi, who had 468 votes.
The delegates also picked Regina Adu, as Women Secretary after obtaining 693 votes, to beat Bernice Wiredu, who had 551 votes.
A total of 1,169 polling station executives, 85 electoral area coordinators, 19 constituency executives, five Patrons and five council of elders, constituted the delegates.
Mr Frank Yeboah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the area also attended and cast his vote.
Mr. Bright Kofi Adusei, the Constituency Research and Elections Director of the party confirming the figures to the Ghana News Agency at Barekse commended the aspirants and their supporters for ensuring peaceful elections.
He also commended the Electoral Commission, the security and the Media for their cooperation and professionalism throughout the exercise.
