Denu (V/R), July 13, GNA – Mr Benjamin Agorsu Katsekpor has been elected Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ketu South after emerging victorious in the party’s constituency executive elections.
Mr Katsekpor polled 1,387 votes, defeating the incumbent Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Coffie Nyatsikah, who secured 342 votes, while Mr Obed Alaglo obtained 192 votes.
The election took place at Three Town Senior High School and was generally peaceful, with delegates from across the constituency participating in the exercise.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr Katsekpor thanked delegates for the mandate given him and pledged to serve the party diligently.
“I appreciate the confidence reposed on me, and I am committed to working hard to meet the expectations of the party,” he said.
He assured members of his readiness to bring everyone on board, regardless of their preferred candidates during the contest, to strengthen unity within the party.
Mr Katsekpor indicated that his leadership would prioritise grassroots reorganisation and mobilisation to enhance the party’s performance in future elections.
Some supporters who spoke to the Ghana News Agency expressed hope that the new leadership would help reposition the party and improve its electoral prospects.
