Tamale, Nov. 29, GNA – Martha Inspires Foundation has held its maiden men’s conference to provide a platform for mentorship, dialogue and practical learning aimed at guiding men towards responsible leadership, personal development, and positive masculinity.

The day’s conference, held in Tamale, was on the theme: “Amplifying the Voices of Men, Inspiring Growth.”

It brought together experienced mentors, who facilitated discussions on career development and personal potential, mental health and wellness, drug abuse, relationships and family life, financial independence as well as resilience and overcoming life’s challenges.

The mentorship sessions created an atmosphere of openness where participants shared personal experiences, fears, and aspirations while mentors offered practical advice on discipline, purpose, emotional balance, self-awareness, and financial responsibility.

The conference also featured a panel discussion and an interactive question-and-answer session on the theme: “Understanding Masculinity and Manhood in Today’s Society.”

Miss Martha Anabila, Founder and Executive Director, Martha Inspires Foundation, speaking during the conference, said it was to provide guidance and safe spaces for men to learn, interact and receive mentorship on issues affecting their personal and professional lives.

She reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to promoting mentorship, youth development, and positive masculinity as effective tools for social transformation.

Mr Ibrahim Taimako, a retired educationist, spoke on the importance of education, discipline and hard work in shaping future opportunities and urged participants to take their personal development seriously.

Mr Marvin Akyea, a youth empowerment advocate, also addressed participants on health and wellness, emphasising the importance of self-care, preventive health practices, stress management, and healthy lifestyles, especially amongst young men.

Mr Joe Jackson, Chief Executive Officer of Dalex Microfinance, who delivered the keynote address, shared personal experiences on business, finance and discipline, highlighting the consequences of indiscipline and the critical role of self-control in achieving long-term success.

He told participants the repercussions of indiscipline saying, “I made $1million before I turned 40 years and lost all before I turned 50 due to indiscipline.”

He encouraged men to stop making excuses or blaming others for their failures and urged them to cultivate positive attitudes, stay disciplined, and take full responsibility for their actions.

Participants commended Martha Inspires Foundation for organizing the conference to champion issues of men’s empowerment, which they noted were rarely discussed openly.
