Ho, Aug. 24, GNA – Right Rev. Dr Lt. Col. Blis Divine Agbeko (rtd), the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG), says the Standing Committee of the Church has acquired a frequency from the National Communications Authority for the establishment of a radio station.
He said the station would be called Bremen Radio.
Rt. Rev. Dr Lt. Col Agbeko made the disclosure at the Church’s 12th General Assembly, which was held recently at the Dela Cathedral in Ho, on the theme: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness: Keep clean.”
The Moderator stated that the Bremen Radio, which would soon begin transmission, would be used to educate and disseminate information quickly to members of the Church and the public and also help in the propagation of the gospel.
He expressed satisfaction with the emergence of experiential worship services in several congregations, several of which were being led by young people.
He also cited initiatives including the Dela Praiz at Dela Parish at Ho, Kafui at Mount Sinai, Akosombo, Beauty of Worship at Lashibi in the Meridian, Dinner with the Psalmist at Lorenz Wolf at Tema, Trinity Praise at Madina and Authentic Worship Experience at Dansoman.
The Moderator intimated that the development was evidence of renewed vitality of youth ministry in the Church, adding that “the radio station will add up to it.”
One of the legacies of Rt Rev Dr Lt Col Agbeko, whose office tenure ends on December 31, this year, is the establishment of a Sachet Water Company known as Prime Natural Mineral Drinking Water Limited.
The Moderator said the Company gave the Church GHS10,000 every month.
The major highlight of the General Assembly was the election of Rev. Professor Frederick Mawusi Amevenku as the new Moderator of the Church.
He will be inducted into office in January 2027.
