Kumasi, Aug. 24, GNA – Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (Chairman COKA), the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to run an open and inclusive leadership that embraces the media as a key partner in party rebuilding.

Speaking at a soiree organised for journalists in Kumasi, COKA said his doors would remain open to the media, stressing the need for continuous engagement and mutual respect.

He described the media as a vital force in deepening democracy and national development, noting that no political party could succeed without a cordial relationship with the press.

Chairman COKA admitted that as a political party, the NPP might have had its shortcomings, and appealed to journalists to forgive the party where it had erred and help reshape its image ahead of future political battles.

Odeneho Appiah said, the Ashanti region remained critical to the fortunes of the NPP and the media’s role in projecting the party’s message, defending its record and selling its vision to Ghanaians could not be underestimated.

“We need you to project us. We are ready to work with you. Our doors are always open for engagements,” he told the gathering.

He further urged journalists to balance accountability with development-focused reporting that highlights issues affecting the Ashanti Region.

The soiree brought together selected journalists from various media houses in Kumasi.
