Dambai (O/R) Sept. 14, GNA – Mr Isaiah Kudjoe Dordoe, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Nkwanta North, has led officials of the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to inspect and assess selected roads in the district for possible rehabilitation and construction.
The exercise formed part of efforts to identify critical road infrastructure challenges in the district and ensure that selected roads were properly surveyed and constructed to improve accessibility and movement for residents.
The DCE was accompanied by Mr Joshua Kunjin, the Oti Regional Director of the National Youth Authority (NYA), and officials of the GHA.
The roads inspected included the Damanko-Pibila Road, Sibi-Ubunja Road, KEFM Junction-Bisignamdo School Road, Kpassa Secondary Technical (KPASTECH) inner and access roads, Pentecost Hospital-Paradise Guest House Road, and the Kpassa-Merimeri Road.
Mr Dordoe said the inspection was necessary to obtain a clearer assessment of the condition and requirements of the roads to guide appropriate interventions.
He said improving the road network remained a priority for the District Assembly, given its importance to the movement of people and goods, access to health and educational facilities, and the growth of economic activities.
The DCE expressed optimism that assessment and surveying would help facilitate the development of the selected roads and improve connectivity among communities within the district.
He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to working with relevant stakeholders, including the GHA and other development partners to improve road infrastructure and create better conditions for residents and businesses.
He said improved roads would not only reduce transportation difficulties but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the district.
