He explained that Elder Simon Ampaabeng, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum East Constituency, would fund the execution of the project, saying that the MP was also expected to cut the sod for work to commence on the project soon.

Accompanied by some members of the NDC in the constituency, Mr Hinneh told a community gathering at Akrofro that construction of the durbar grounds was in fulfilment of a promise the MP made to the community in the 2024 electioneering.

He reaffirmed the MP’s dedication to improving local infrastructure and thereby addressing the emerging socio-economic needs of the constituents.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Nketia Yeboah, the Assembly Member of the Kotaa/Akrofro Electoral Area, described the project as essential, saying that it would also serve as a source of revenue.

He commended the MP and appealed for a community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to address the healthcare needs of the people in the area.
