Mampong (A/R), July 6, GNA – The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into alleged misconduct by a female officer captured in a viral video.
A press release issued by Assistant Superintendent of Police Emmanuel Agbodzi, Staff Officer and Acting Public Relations Officer of the Command, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the Service had taken notice of the video depicting the incident.
“The Police officer involved has been identified and investigation has commenced to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident that is said to have occurred on July 3, 2026. Appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigations,” the statement said.
The Command assured the public of its commitment to professionalism, discipline and accountability, adding that further updates would be provided as investigations progressed.
It is alleged that the complainant had gone to the Afrancho Akomadan District Police Command, where the officer is stationed, to lodge a complaint.
The officer allegedly refused to attend to him, prompting the complainant to record her on his phone.
The video allegedly showed the officer kicking at the phone and later picking up a stone, threatening to throw it at the complainant, but was restrained by a colleague.
