World Cup proceeding without security incidents – White House

Washington, June 15 (RIA Novosti/GNA) – The 2026 FIFA World Cup has faced no security incidents so far, the executive director of the White House Task Force on the FIFA World Cup said on Monday.

“What I can tell you is no major security incidents now. There are always things going on behind the scenes to make sure that we’re talking about what’s happening on the pitch, all these great matches, and we’ll continue to do that over the next 35 days to make sure that this World Cup is safe and secure,” Andrew Giuliani told CNBC.

He also said that the 78 matches of the Super Bowl will be covered for counter-drone coverage and counter-UAS mitigation.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the first tournament to feature 48 national teams and to be hosted by three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament runs from June 11 to July 19.
