Ziorme (V/R), May 22, GNA – Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has commissioned a newly completed three-unit classroom block at Ziorme in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region.
The facility, which includes ancillary provisions to support effective teaching and learning, is expected to improve access to quality basic education for children in the community.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after the commissioning ceremony, Madam Gomashie reaffirmed her commitment to promoting quality education, stressing that every child deserved a conducive environment for learning.
She explained that the intervention followed appeals from members of the Ziorme community, who had initiated the classroom project but were unable to complete it due to limited resources.
According to the MP, the project was completed and made functional to ensure that pupils in the area could benefit from improved classroom infrastructure and a better learning environment.
Madam Gomashie commended the people of Ziorme for taking the initiative to begin the project, noting that such community efforts reflected a strong commitment to educational development.
She further pledged to support the school with computers and other teaching and learning materials to enhance academic work and improve educational outcomes.

Mr Seth Akli, who represented the Ketu South Municipal Director of Education at the event, praised the Member of Parliament for her continued contribution to the education sector in the municipality.
He described education as the foundation of development and said the new classroom block would provide children in Ziorme with a more suitable environment to pursue their education.
Mr Akli also assured the community that the Directorate would take steps to post teachers to the school to ensure effective teaching and learning.
He, however, urged community leaders to formally write to the Directorate to facilitate the absorption of the school into the public education system.
Residents of Ziorme expressed appreciation to Madam Gomashie for completing the project, describing the intervention as timely and impactful for the community.
The ceremony was marked by displays of gratitude from residents, with some community members presenting gifts to the MP in recognition of her support and commitment to education development in the area.
