Ve-Agbome (V/R), Sept 7, GNA – Mr Frank Afriyie, the Member of Parliament for Afadzato South Constituency, has donated bags of fertilizer to farmers in the Afadzato South District to support agricultural production and improve crop yields.
The donation, which is being rolled out in phases, has so far benefited farmers in several communities.
The beneficiary communities include Logba Vunta – 30 bags, Logba Akusame – 30 bags, Logba Hoglikofe – 30 bags, Logba Adzakoe – 40 bags, Logba Alakpeti – 50 bags, Leklebi Fiafe – 30 bags, Leklebi Duga – 40 bags, Leklebi Dafor – 30 bags, Leklebi Kame/Kudzra – 40 bags, Ve-Deme – 40 bags, and Ve-Agbome – 30 bags.
Presenting the items on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Mr Kelvin Kokroko, an NDC Communication Officer in the Constituency noted that Mr Afriyie had never forgotten them and will always place the district at his heart first.
Mr Kokroko urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizers on their farms to boost agricultural production rather than selling them.
Residents and farmers in Ve-Agbome, who received their consignment, expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture, saying the support would go a long way to reduce production cost and assist them in their farming activities.
Farmers in Ve-Home, Kplezo and other communities are also expected to receive their share of the fertilizer as the distribution continues.
The initiative is aimed at providing farmers with essential inputs and boosting food production across the district.
