Accra, Sept. 7, GNA – The University of Media, Arts and Communication-Institute of Film and Television (UniMAC-IFT) has received equipment and facility upgrades from Dentsu Ghana, an advertising and communications company, to enhance practical learning and strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
The support package included the refurbishment of the Institute’s radio studio and two creative rooms, as well as the donation of 15 computers, five Wacom tablets, a camera, lenses, a gimbal stabiliser, microphones, headsets and a 10kVA uninterrupted power supply (UPS).
Professor Samuel Yirenkyi, the Rector of UniMAC-IFT, said this when Dentsu Ghana presented the equipment to the Institute to support teaching and learning.
A release copied to the Ghana News Agency said the initiative formed part of Dentsu Ghana’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, aimed at equipping students with the resources and environment needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving media, marketing and communications landscape.
Presenting the equipment, Mr Andrew Ackah, the Chief Executive Officer of Dentsu Ghana, said the future of the communications industry depended on investing in institutions that nurtured talent.
“The communications industry is evolving rapidly, and preparing students for that future requires more than theory,” he said.
“By supporting the Institute’s learning environment with modern facilities and equipment, we hope to contribute meaningfully to the development of industry-ready professionals who will shape the future of Ghana’s creative economy.”
Mr Ackah said stronger partnerships between industry and academia was important to promote education, innovation and talent development within Ghana’s creative ecosystem.
