Ho, Jan 26, GNA-Mr Leonard Kwabla Hodolie, (stage name Maskhid HL), a 28-year-old music artist from Vodza, Keta is on a mission to inspire his generation with his single, Hustle.
The young graduate of E.P. College of Education, Amedzofe with a B.Ed in Basic Education (Mathematics & I.C.T.) and former student of Keta Business College, who though has been in the music industry for about 10 years, is just getting started.
Maskhid HL, in an interview with Ghana News Agency said Hustle, produced in collaboration with two other artists, Boii Flame and Mr Aboy reflected his personal experiences and life struggles.
The song, a blend of English and Ewe, could be said to resonate with the audience, capturing the current situations and future aspirations of people from similar backgrounds.
“It’s just life experience, like personal experience,” he said, noting, “the situation is, when you listen to it, you see that it’s just the things that are going on where we come from – like the situation and then where we want to get to.”
As a teacher yet to be posted, Maskhid HL intended to use his music to inspire young people to chase their dreams, saying despite facing challenges even with his music career, he remained focused on his goals and would make waves in the industry.
He said: “I’ve been in the industry for like 10 years now, and I’m still pushing. I want to show my generation that with hard work and determination, we can make it. Again, the key is to trust in the Lord, persevere and stay true to oneself.
My belief is this: no matter where you come from or what challenges you face, you can achieve your dreams. Hustle is more than just a song – it’s an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt like giving up.”
Although the release date was yet to be finalised, Maskhid HL had been actively engaging with his audience on social media, especially TikTok, gauging reactions and building hype.
While preparing to release Hustle, the young artist with disability urged his fans to stay tuned and get ready to be inspired by his unique sound and message of hope.
