Accra, Jan. 26, GNA – The Meridian Presbytery Men’s Fellowship of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has inducted a nine-member executive to steer the affairs of the fellowship.
The executive, headed by Mr Samuel Akoetey as President, was inducted by Reverend Abraham Dovigah Akoto, Men’s Desk Programmes Officer at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Head Office in Ho.
The executives will serve a three-year term, overseeing the fellowship within the Meridian Presbytery, which spans coastal communities from La to Ada, including Dodowa, Adenta, and surrounding areas.
Mr Akoetey said leadership in God’s Kingdom was not about the pursuit of status or wealth, but about surrendering one’s will to God.
He expressed his prayer to lead with wisdom, compassion, and a firm commitment to God’s Word, drawing inspiration from the biblical resolve of Joshua to serve the Lord.
He noted that the Men’s Fellowship was implementing programmes and activities aimed at grooming young men to assume leadership roles, adding that the fellowship served as a vital platform for spiritual growth and the exchange of ideas.
Mr Akoetey urged Christian men to regard their service to society as an act of worship and remain steadfast in contributing to national development.
He challenged them to live lives of integrity to promote national peace and accelerated development, stressing that leadership roles within the Church carried significant responsibility and required commitment to serving both God and humanity.
He explained that men who lived with integrity provided moral standards for others to emulate, empowering the Church to play a meaningful role in addressing societal challenges.
He further noted that the faithfulness of Christian men in their workplaces was essential to building a peaceful and prosperous nation, emphasizing that it would be a disservice to the faith if men continued to fellowship without applying divine principles in their professional and private lives.
Touching on the future of the country, Mr Akoetey said there was great hope for Ghana, provided the current generation invested in the youth.
