Ketu North MP secures major infrastructure projects

Afife (V/R), Sept 12, GNA – Mr. Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, says his long-standing advocacy for improved infrastructure at the Afife Senior High Technical School (ASSETS) is beginning to yield results. 

Over the past months, the MP has engaged the Minister of Education, administrators of the  GETFund, the Ghana Education Service, and other stakeholders to address the school’s poor state.  

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr. Agbana said, following these engagements, the GETFund has committed to undertaking key projects at ASSETS. 

These include a two-storey girls’ dormitory with a courtyard, A two-storey boys’ dormitory with a courtyard, A two-storey administration and library block, Two 12-seater toilet facilities 

The GETFund has formally written to the Volta Regional Minister to initiate the procurement process for these projects. 

Mr. Agbana further disclosed that the GETFund has agreed to re-award two abandoned classroom blocks at ASSETS, with procurement expected to be completed by the end of the month to pave the way for construction works to resume. 

He also revealed that discussions have been initiated with the Ministry of Education to convert ASSETS into a full boarding institution beginning next academic year, a move he said would significantly improve teaching and learning conditions. 

The MP assured that other critical projects were under negotiation and would be announced once finalized, stressing his commitment to uplifting all four senior high schools within the Ketu North constituency.
