Tsifodze Kofe (V/R), Sept. 28, GNA – The mortal remains of late Torgbui Esru II, Chief of Dzuefe-Gbordome in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region, has been laid to rest, in his hometown, Tsifodze Kofe.
Known in private life as Temple Chris Kwami Tsifodze, was born on September 25, 1955, to Amega Sofehu Tsifodze and Madam Dashie Agbodeka.
Torgbui Esru II held an MBA in Banking and Finance and made significant contributions to the financial and traditional sectors.
He served as the General Manager of Avenor Rural Bank PLC from 2005 to 2016 and was the Secretary to the Association of Rural Banks, Volta Chapter, from 2007 to 2016. He also served as a Research Committee Member of the Avenor Traditional Council.
He was respected for his integrity and selfless service to his people.
In a heartfelt tribute, his wives, Mrs. Cecilia Tsifodze and Awo Tsifodze, described him as a loving husband and devoted provider.
“He was always ready to sacrifice every little he had for the development of the family,” they said. “We have lost a true companion.”
In a moving personal tribute, his child expressed the family’s deep sorrow:
“He was our strength when things got tough. He was more than a father to us. His passing leaves an overwhelming emptiness.”
The burial ceremony drew a large gathering, including traditional leaders, dignitaries, family members, and community residents, all coming together to honour a leader whose life left a lasting legacy.
Torgbui Esru II is remembered for his humility, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to preserving the customs and traditions of Dzuefe-Gbordome. His reign was marked by a deep commitment to unity and community development.
