Sunyani, (Bono), Aug 22, GNA – The Global Media Foundation (GloMeF), an NGO, has expressed its deepest condolences to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, the Asanteman Council and the entire ‘Ashantis’, as a sea of mourners thronged the Manhyia Palace for the one-week observance of the late Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The final funeral rite (Doteyie) of the late queen mother who died on August 7, 2025 is scheduled for Sunday, September 14 to Thursday, September 18, 2025.
She was 98 years.
A statement issued and signed by Mr Godlove Ahenu, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GloMeF, described the late queen mother as “a beacon of tradition, wisdom, compassion, and culture whose legacy will forever be illuminated in the traditional history of Ghana.”
“The passing of the Asantehemaa is not only a great loss to Asanteman, but also to the entire nation. Her lifelong dedication to peace, unity, and development, and her role in preserving our cherished cultural heritage, will forever be remembered and celebrated,” a copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) indicated.
It said: “We share in this deep moment of grief with His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the entire royal family, and we pray for God’s comfort and guidance in this period of mourning.”
The statement called on Ghanaians to honour the memories of the late Asantehemaa by upholding peace, unity and respect for the nation’s tradition and culture.
It explained that the GloMeF is a leading NGO dedicated to promoting media professionalism, transparency, and accountability.
Through advocacy, training, and research, GloMeF works to strengthen democratic governance and empower journalists to uphold the highest ethical standards.
