Koforidua, April. 4, GNA – Ms. Rejoice Sefakor, Founder of Learn to Read Foundation, has urged philanthropists, education stakeholders, and individuals to support school children with essential learning materials.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, she advocated donations to enhance children’s education, highlighting her collaboration with Bouyant Youth Foundation, founded by Ms. Agnes Etuah, in this impactful initiative.
Ms. Sefakor said the two Youth-led foundations presented stationery such as pencils, erasers, pens, sharpeners, and exercise books to Tomefa M/A Basic School, Kasoa surburb in the central region during the International Women’s Day, 2025, celebration.
Additionally, five needy girls were selected from the school and given new school bags and footwear to ensure they had the necessary resources to focus on their education, she said.
Also, the foundations donated 55 copies of storybooks to the school’s library as a contribution to the objective of instilling a love for reading among the students and enhancing their literacy skills.
She said education was a fundamental right, yet many children, especially those in underserved communities, still faced challenges in accessing basic learning resources.
“We encourage individuals, organizations, and stakeholders to join the cause by donating books, sponsoring a child’s education, or mentoring young learners to create a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, ” she said, adding, “Initiatives like these proved that small efforts could make a big difference.”
Learn to Read Foundation was established in 2018, and a registered non-profit organization dedicated to improving literacy rates in underprivileged communities in Ghana.
Buoyant Youth Foundation is a non-profit organization that empowers young minds through education, mentorship, leadership, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy.
