Shake-up at National Security Council Secretariat

Accra, Aug 11, GNA – President Mahama has approved new appointments and reassignments within the National Security Council Secretariat as part of an ongoing reorganization of the security apparatus.

The changes, announced in a press release issued on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, by Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, take immediate effect.

Under the new structure, former Chief of Army Staff, Major General (Rtd.) William Ayamdo, has been appointed as the Deputy National Security Coordinator in charge of Operations.

Former National Security Coordinator, Mr. Yaw Donkor, assumes the role of Director of Intelligence and Research at the Office of the National Security Advisor.

The presidency also announced the following key appointments: Mr. Adamu Saaka as Director of Logistics and Transport, Ms. Faustina Effah-Boadi as the Officer in Charge of the Human Security Department, and DCOP (Rtd.) Peter Ndekugri as the Officer in Charge of the Special Investigations Unit.

Additionally, ACP Alhassan Osman has been reassigned to the Ghana Police Service for further deployment.
