We have always maintained Professionalism with cordial working relations- RMG

Accra, July 22, GNA-The Management of RMG has stated that they have over the years maintained a professional, cordial and constructive working relationship with the Government of Ghana and its institutions.


“ The Company believes that the mining industry can only thrive through collaboration, mutual respect and adherence to the laws and regulatory framework governing the sector.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Wednesday, the Management urged the public to disregard falsehood being peddled by a section of the media regarding their former operations at the Apinto concession and various allegations relating to the Government of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and certain public officials.

“RMG Company Ltd wishes to state, unequivocally, that it has not authorized, commissioned, endorsed or participated in the publication or dissemination of the said report. The views, allegations, assertions and conclusions contained in that publication are entirely those of the publisher and should not, under any circumstances, be construed as representing the position of RMG Company Ltd”.

The Company also dissociated itself from the litany of complaints, allegations and political assertions contained in the publication, including any suggestion that the Government of Ghana or its officials supported or facilitated the takeover of RMG’s mining operations.
“ RMG Company Ltd is not associated with such claims and does not wish to be drawn into political discourse or partisan controversy.

“The Management wishes to express its profound appreciation to the the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership and technical staff of the Minerals Commission for their sound leadership, guidance and continuous engagement with the Company. Their support has been instrumental in assisting RMG Company Ltd in restructuring its operations and laying a solid foundation for the restoration of its mining activities.

“RMG Company Ltd values the confidence reposed in it by the Government of Ghana, its regulators, traditional authorities, host communities, business partners and the public. The Company looks forward to maintaining its cordial and mutually beneficial working relations with the Government and all relevant state agencies in the lawful discharge of its operations and in contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s economy.
