Tarkwa (W/R), Sept 18, GNA-Mr. Issah Salifu Taylor, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency in the Western Region has rolled out an educational support programme for first year Senior High School (SHS) students in his constituency.
The first batch of 90 students received their cash support and learning materials on Wednesday September 16, 2026, to help them prepare for their SHS education.
Eighty-six additional students are expected to receive similar assistance on Thursday, September 17, 2026, while the rest have been scheduled to pick up theirs on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Addressing some of the beneficiaries in Tarkwa, Mr. Taylor explained that 280 first-year SHS students across his constituency would benefit from the initiative this year.
He stated that the goal of the programme was to ease the financial burden on parents and ensure the freshers had adequate support as they commenced secondary education.
Some parents who accompanied their children to the event lauded the MP for his generosity and pledged to ensure they focused on their studies to become better persons in their communities and serve as role models for younger ones.
