Dambai (O/R), July 1, GNA- The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Krachi East Municipality, Mr Safo Nketia, has called on religious leaders, traditional authorities and residents to use the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving to seek God’s guidance for peace, unity and development in the municipality and the country at large.

Speaking at an interdenominational thanksgiving service held at Dambai, Mr Nketia said prayer and collective responsibility remain critical ingredients in promoting social harmony and creating an enabling environment for development.

He noted that while the municipality had made strides in various sectors, there was the need for continuous prayers and cooperation among residents to attract more government interventions and development projects.

“As we gather to thank God for the peace and stability our nation continues to enjoy, let us also pray for wisdom, unity and opportunities that will bring sustainable development to Krachi East. Through our collective prayers and commitment to the progress of our municipality, we can position ourselves to receive our equitable share of national resources and development projects,” he stated.

The MCE emphasised that infrastructure development, improved social services, quality education, healthcare delivery and economic empowerment remained among the Assembly’s priorities.

He said the Municipal Assembly was actively engaging central government agencies and development partners to address the developmental needs of the area.

He further urged residents to complement government efforts by maintaining peace and supporting initiatives aimed at improving living standards in the municipality.

Mr Nketia commended religious bodies for their continuous role in promoting peace, moral values and national cohesion, stressing that the contribution of faith-based organisations remained indispensable to national development.

Religious leaders who participated in the service said the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving offered an opportunity for citizens to reflect on God’s blessings, pray for the nation’s leaders and intercede for peace and prosperity in local communities.

They called on Ghanaians to uphold the values of tolerance, unity and patriotism and encouraged citizens to remain committed to the ideals of nation-building and peaceful coexistence.

The National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving is observed annually to promote gratitude to God, foster national unity and renew citizens’ commitment to peace, development and collective responsibility toward building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
