Ghana joins international information exchange through TV BRICS

Accra, July 4 (TV BRICS/GNA) – Countries across the African continent are expanding their global media presence: the Republic of Ghana is joining international communications through the TV BRICS media network.

The country’s interests in the unified BRICS+ agenda will be represented by the leading news agency, the Ghana News Agency (GNA).

The partners agreed to collaborate on content exchange, the creation of information and analytical media materials, and the enhancement of industry specialists.

The agreement was signed by Albert Kofi Owusu , Director General of GNA, and Zhanna Tolstikova , Director General and Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS . 

“This partnership with the international media network TV BRICS marks a significant step in expanding our global news presence and strengthening collaboration between media outlets in the Global South. It creates new avenues for sharing credible, diverse, and development-focused content, while strengthening the African perspective in the global news space. We are confident this collaboration will deepen mutual understanding between our audiences and enhance the ability of both organizations to produce effective journalism. For the Ghana News Agency, this is a strategic investment in promoting the voice of Ghana, sharing African expertise, and fostering strong media solidarity across continents,” noted GNA Director General Albert Kofi Owusu.

Ghana News Agency is Ghana’s leading national news agency. Founded in 1957 and headquartered in Accra, the agency operates in English and specializes in socio-economic issues on the national and international agendas.

GNA plays a vital role in informing citizens, supporting democratic governance, and representing Ghana’s voice in the African region and the global community.

Zhanna Tolstikova, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of TV BRICS, noted that the broad presence of African countries on the international agenda facilitates business and trade integration with the BRICS group, which already includes South Africa, Egypt, and Ethiopia, and partners Nigeria and Uganda.

Ghana’s collaboration with the media network will strengthen West Africa’s visibility and support the development of economic diplomacy aimed at attracting investment and promoting the region’s exports to foreign markets.

The Republic of Ghana became the 34th country in the world to join the information exchange through TV BRICS, and the 9th partner state of the media network in Africa, along with Egypt, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tunisia, Ethiopia and South Africa.
