Kadjebi (O/R), July 3, GNA – Football enthusiasts in Kadjebi in the Oti Region have urged the Ghana Black Stars to adopt a disciplined and tactical approach in their FIFA World Cup clash against Colombia on Saturday, July 4, saying victory would depend on the team’s ability to remain focused and organised throughout the match.
The fans, who spoke in separate interviews with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Friday, said Colombia should not be underrated because of the quality and experience within the team.
Mr Mawuli Gavu, a football enthusiast, said the Black Stars must maintain a solid defensive shape while remaining clinical in attack to secure a positive result.
“I have watched Colombia’s matches and they are not a team to be taken lightly. They can punish any defensive mistake, so the Black Stars must stay compact and take their chances when they come,” he said.
Ms Valeria Doh, another football enthusiast, expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances, saying the team’s technical handlers had learnt valuable lessons from previous matches.
She said Head Coach Carlos Queiroz was expected to field a balanced and competitive side capable of matching Colombia in every department of the game.
“I believe the coach has adequately prepared the team and will adopt the right tactics to overcome Colombia,” she said.
Mr Gershon Amedo also predicted victory for the Black Stars but cautioned that the match would be fiercely contested.
He said Colombia would be equally determined to secure qualification to the Round of 16 and would mount a strong challenge.
“The Black Stars must remain composed, defend with discipline and convert the scoring opportunities they create because the match will not be easy,” he said.
Other fans appealed to the players to exhibit determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the encounter, adding that maintaining concentration from kickoff to the final whistle would be crucial.
They expressed optimism that a tactical display, coupled with discipline and commitment, would earn Ghana victory and boost the team’s chances of progressing to the knockout stage of the competition.
The fans also called on Ghanaians to continue supporting the Black Stars as they seek to make the nation proud at the tournament.
