Accra, Sept. 10, GNA – The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has completed balloting for aspirants contesting its national executive elections scheduled for October 3, 2026, with former General Secretary John Boadu picking the first position in the National Chairmanship race.
Mr Sammy Crabbe picked the second position, former National Chairman, Mr Paul Afoko, secured the third position, while former Energy Minister, Mr Boakye Agyarko drew the fourth position in the chairmanship contest.
The balloting, held on Wednesday, September 9, determined the positions of the aspirants on the ballot papers for the various national executive positions ahead of the elections in the Ashanti Region.
For the General Secretary position, the ballot order places Mr Sylvester Tetteh at number one, Mr Eugene Boakye Antwi at number two, Mr Justin Frimpong Kodua, who is the incumbent, at number three and Dr Charles Dwamena at number four.
The National Treasurer contest has Hajia Ruka Ahmed at number one, Mr Alfred Kojo Thompson at number two and Tahiru Moomen at number three.
The Vice Chairperson contest has 13 aspirants, with Dr Mustapha Hamid occupying the first position, followed by Kojo Bamba at number two and Kwabena Abankwah Yeboah at number three.
Mr Richard Ahiagba is number four, Masawood Mohammed number five, Oti Aboagye number six, Abena Pokuaah Amoah Boaitey number seven and Obaa Yaa Amponsah Frimpong number eight.
The rest are; Henry Nana Boakye occupies the ninth position, Horma Akesie Miezah the 10th, Sam Pyne the 11th, Nana Akomea the 12th and Bright Essilfie the 13th.
For the National Organiser position, the aspirants listed for the contest are Mr Kwame Prempeh, Agyenim Boateng, Archibald Gamor Korletey, Nana K, Ali Maiga Halidu, Emmanuel Korsi Bordja and Daniel Nii Kwartey Titus Glover.
They occupy positions one to seven respectively on the ballot in the order in which their names were provided.
Meanwhile, Mr Salam Mustapha, the current National Youth Organiser who was among the aspirants for the National Organiser position pulled out of the contest ahead of the balloting on Wednesday.
The National Youth Organiser race has six aspirants.
Mr Alfred Kumi Ababio occupies the first position, followed by Vera Oye Bram at number two, Michael Osei Boateng at number three, Abanga Fuseini at number four, Clement Opoku Gyamfi at number five and Chris Lloyd at number six.
For the National Women Organiser position, Hajia Safia Mohammed picked the first position, while Mavis Hawa Koomson occupies the second position.
The five aspirants contesting the Nasara Coordinator position are Alhaji Ali Suraj, Isaka Muazo Kunata, Awal Mohammed, Alhaji Salim Bamba and Razak Tahiru Maiga.
They occupy positions one, two, three, four and five, respectively.
Mr Dennis Miracles Aboagye is the sole aspirant listed for the National Communications Officer position and therefore occupies position one on the ballot paper.
Some of the candidates expressed satisfaction with their positions, attributing the numbers they picked to divine favour, while others said their positions on the ballot would influence their campaign strategies as they approached the October 3 polls.
