Accra, July 30, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency has pledged an annual GHS5,000 award for the overall best graduating student at the School of Public Service and Governance at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) for the next five years.
Mr Bedzrah who is also the Board Chairman of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), made the announcement when served as the Special Guest of Honour and Guest Speaker at the 26th GIMPA Congregation Ceremony.
He challenged the graduating Class of 2026 to embrace integrity, innovation and digital transformation in their leadership journey.
He urged them to commit themselves to selfless service, stressing that true leadership was measured not by the positions people occupied but by the opportunities they created and the positive impact they made in the lives of others.
“As leaders, our true legacy is not defined by the positions we hold, but by the opportunities we create and the lives we impact,” Mr Bedzrah stated.
In his capacity as Board Chairman of GETFund, he reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to collaborating with GIMPA to strengthen educational infrastructure, research, innovation and digital transformation across the institution.
He noted that investing in education remained one of the surest ways of securing Ghana’s future, adding that strategic partnerships between government and educational institutions were essential to developing the country’s human capital.
Mr Bedzrah said the annual award was intended to encourage academic excellence and inspire students to pursue outstanding achievements in public service and governance.
He congratulated the graduating Class of 2026 on their academic success and urged them to contribute meaningfully to national development through visionary leadership, professionalism and dedicated service.
He expressed confidence that the graduates would play critical roles in building a stronger, more innovative and prosperous Ghana.
