Accra, July 14, GNA – The Ayawaso East Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected new constituency executives to lead the party over the next term.

The elections attracted keen interest from delegates and featured keenly contested races for key positions, reflecting active participation by members across the constituency.

Speaking after the elections, Mr Daniel Danquah, the Secretary-Elect, called for unity among party supporters and urged members to put the contest behind them and work together towards a common goal.

The newly elected executives pledged to promote reconciliation, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and foster unity within the constituency.

For the position of Deputy General Secretary, Mr Samuel Kojo polled 556 votes to defeat Mr Khaorudeen Yahaya, who secured 290 votes.

In the Secretary election, Mr Daniel Danquah won with 514 votes, ahead of Mr Mohammed Sharif, who obtained 279 votes, and Mr Abdallah Swalah, who polled 38 votes.

Mr Awudu Iddrisu was elected Organiser after securing 461 votes against Mr Emmanuel Asante’s 386 votes.

Hajia Ayisha won the Women Organiser position with 398 votes. Madam Jenniffer, the incumbent, obtained 383 votes, while Hajia Maama secured 63 votes.

In the Communications Officer election, Mr Abdullahi Ali secured 424 votes to defeat Mr Yussif Adamu, who obtained 419 votes.

Delegates also elected officers for other key positions to lead the party’s activities within the constituency.

Mr Danquah said the success of the party depended on its ability to remain united and focused.

He dismissed allegations that some candidates were sponsored by prospective parliamentary aspirants.

“I contested the election independently and received support from party faithful based on my vision and commitment to service,” he said.

Mr Danquah said discussions had already begun with the Chairman-Elect to initiate a reconciliation process aimed at healing divisions that might have emerged during the campaign period.

He said unity was one of the central messages of his campaign and would remain a priority for the new executive team.

Mr Danquah noted that the constituency had witnessed renewed enthusiasm among members and supporters and expressed optimism that the momentum generated by the elections would contribute to strengthening party structures at the grassroots level.

“A united front would be critical as the party prepares for future electoral contests, including the 2028 general election,” he said.
