Tema, June 14, GNA- Congregations of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) across the country on Sunday, June 14, 2026, adorned themselves in red attire as the church observes “National Red Sunday Campaign.”
The campaign, which brought together both the young and old in various shades of red, forms part of the Church’s ecological integrity initiative.
A notice issued by Reverend Davis Aboagye-Danquah, Clerk of the General Assembly of the PCG, to all presbyteries ahead of the day, stated that the campaign was on the theme: “Raising our Voices Against Ecological Injustice” (Genesis 2:16).
“This Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) initiative aims to speak out against environmental destruction and renew our God-given commitment to protect and care for the earth.”

It further noted that the adorning of red apparel served as “our “silent” but strong advocacy against ecological destruction, especially illegal mining (Galamsey).
“By wearing red, our members will collectively signal the “red alert” urgency required to address climate change and reaffirm the church’s commitment to protecting God’s creation,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Redemption Congregation at Tema Community Nine also marked the day as “Men’s Fellowship Day” on the theme: “Celebrating Our Heritage: Building on the Foundation Already Laid. Men, Use Spiritual Disciplines as Building Blocks.”
Mr Elvis Panford, Past Clerk of Session, PCG Redemption, indicated that a house without a good foundation and correct materials would collapse just as it has been witnessed in parts of Ghana, especially during the rainy season.

Mr Panford, therefore, urged men to build their spiritual houses by acknowledging and accepting that Christ is the only true foundation, as their wealth and fame could not replace a solid spiritual foundation.
He mentioned prayer, studying of the Word of God, fasting and self-control; fellowship and service; and integrity as the spiritual building blocks.
“All men are builders, but what are you building and with what?” he emphasised.
