Asempanaye (C/R), June 30, GNA – Assin North Senior High Technical School (ANSTECH) in the Assin North District of the Central Region has launched its 40th anniversary celebration to raise awareness among stakeholders and mobilise funds towards the event.
Nana Abena Nyarkoa II, Queenmother of Twifo Hemang and Chairperson for the occasion, urged that students be introduced to entrepreneurship at an early stage to equip them with problem-solving skills and transform them from job seekers into job creators.
She underscored the need to nurture entrepreneurial thinking as a strategic measure to reduce youth unemployment and promote national development.
Nana Nyarkoa emphasised that the future of the country would depend on innovative thinkers, problem solvers and entrepreneurs who create opportunities for others, rather than individuals waiting for employment.
Ms Grace Dylis Ababio, Headmistress of the school, said over the past four decades, ANSTECH had produced notable personalities serving in various capacities both locally and internationally.
She commended stakeholders for their continuous support and called for sustained commitment towards the school’s infrastructural development.
Ms Ababio outlined key challenges facing the school, including inadequate staff accommodation, limited office space, lack of an administrative block, kitchen, library, boys’ dormitory, and an uncompleted assembly hall.
She appealed to the government, civil society organisations, philanthropists, old students, and traditional authorities to assist in addressing the school’s infrastructural deficits.
Mr Sylvester Amakye, District Chief Executive, noted that investing in the school aligned with the Government’s agenda to strengthen education in the district and equip students with the resources needed for academic excellence.
ANSTECH was established in 1985 by six communities and was later absorbed into the Ghana Education Service in 1990.
