Dzita-Anloga, (V/R), June 03, GNA – Mr Richard Kwame Sefe, Member of Parliament for the Anloga Constituency, has officially handed over a newly reroofed classroom block to Volta Senior High School (VOLTASCO) at Dzita.
It shows his commitment to improving educational infrastructure and enhancing learning conditions for students across the constituency.
The completion and handover of the renovated classroom facility mark the fulfilment of a promise made by the Member of Parliament in April 2026 as part of a broader educational support initiative, aimed at addressing infrastructure challenges in senior high schools within the Anlo Constituency.
The intervention comes as a major relief to the school community, as the classroom block had remained severely deteriorated for an extended period, raising concerns about the safety and comfort of both students and staff.
The newly renovated structure is expected to significantly improve classroom access and create a more conducive environment for academic activities.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Tuesday morning following the handover ceremony, Mr Sefe touched on the importance of investing in educational infrastructure as a means of improving learning outcomes and empowering the next generation.
He noted that while the reroofing project represents a significant milestone, additional support would be required to facilitate the future growth and development of the institution.
The Member of Parliament therefore appealed to traditional authorities, elders and residents of Dzita and surrounding communities to make additional land available for the expansion of the school.
According to him, the increasing population of students and the growing demands on the institution make expansion an urgent necessity to ensure VOLTASCO continues to effectively serve its catchment communities.
“Education remains a key priority, and I will continue to work tirelessly to improve infrastructure, provide support and expand opportunities for our young people,” Mr Sefe stated.
He emphasised that the availability of additional land would enable the school to undertake future infrastructure projects, including the construction of new classrooms, administrative offices, and dormitories needed to accommodate rising enrolment.
Beyond the roofing project, plans are underway to replace the windows and doors of the renovated classroom block and other structures to ensure all facilities provide a safe, secure and comfortable teaching and learning environment.
Mr Sefe explained that these additional improvements form part of a comprehensive effort to transform educational facilities within the constituency and ensure that students have access to the quality infrastructure required to excel academically.
“These improvements are aimed at creating a more conducive and inspiring environment for teaching and learning because our students deserve the very best as they pursue their academic goals,” he added.
The latest intervention adds to a series of educational support initiatives undertaken by the MP since assuming office.
Mr Sefe has consistently assisted at Volta Senior High School and other educational institutions in the constituency, demonstrating his commitment to the advancement of education in the area.
Volta Senior High School, popularly known as VOLTASCO, is one of the five public high schools in the Anloga District. The institution serves students from Dzita, Anyanui, Agbledomi, Akplorwotorkor and several surrounding communities. Following its government takeover in 2016, the school has continued to play a vital role in expanding access to secondary education within the district.
The successful reroofing of the classroom block has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, who believe the intervention will significantly improve teaching and learning conditions at the school. They have also endorsed the Member of Parliament’s call for additional land, describing it as essential to the long-term growth and expansion of Volta Senior High School.
