Barekese (Ash), May 4, GNA – A total of 203 officials have been deployed to supervise the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The officials comprise 17 supervisors and their assistants, 143 invigilators, and 20 police officers, tasked with ensuring order and adherence to examination regulations across 17 centres.
In all, 4,327 candidates from 44 public and 47 private schools under the District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) are sitting for the examination.
Out of the total number, public schools presented 3,527 candidates, made up of 1,715 males and 1,812 females, while private schools recorded 800 candidates, comprising 412 males and 388 females.
Mr. Frank Duah Boateng, the District Director of Education, addressing the officials ahead of the examination, urged them to strictly enforce examination rules and maintain high standards of professionalism throughout the period to prevent any irregularities.
He emphasised that their conduct would serve as a model for the candidates, cautioning that any breach of the regulations could attract sanctions, including legal consequences.
Mr. Boateng also advised candidates to refrain from examination malpractice, noting that such actions could lead to the cancellation or withholding of their results.
He encouraged them to remain confident and approach the examination with diligence and integrity.
