Ketu South residents lament poor network services, demand improved quality

Denu (V/R), May 22, GNA-Residents in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region have expressed frustration over what they describe as poor and unreliable services by MTN Ghana, citing frequent network disruptions affecting communication and business activities.

The concerns follow recent fluctuations in network connectivity, which have disrupted voice calls and internet services across parts of the municipality.

Checks by the Ghana News Agency indicated that many on-network calls dropped or went silent a few minutes after connection, often resuming intermittently, making effective communication difficult.

The situation has also affected mobile money operations, a key source of livelihood for many residents.

Some mobile money vendors told the GNA that unstable network connectivity had significantly disrupted their services, leading to delays and loss of customers.

“Customers come to send or withdraw money, but the network does not allow us to complete transactions. It is affecting our work seriously,” a vendor said.

He added that in some instances, customers were forced to leave without being served due to prolonged network downtime.

Further observations by the GNA showed that on Friday, May 22, the MTN network went off completely for about an hour in some areas, causing widespread inconvenience and dissatisfaction among users.

Residents say the situation is impacting not only personal communication but also economic activities, particularly for small-scale businesses that rely heavily on stable connectivity.

They have therefore called on the National Communications Authority and other relevant regulators to ensure that telecommunication companies provide reliable and improved services.

The residents urged MTN Ghana to address the persistent network challenges to restore confidence and support business operations in the municipality.
