Ho (V/R), May 4, GNA – The Ho Municipal Director of Education, Dr. Esther Yeboah-Adzimah, has called on candidates sitting for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to demonstrate courage, honesty, and discipline throughout the examination period.

She reiterated the Ghana Education Service’s firm stance against examination malpractice, stressing that there would be zero tolerance for any form of cheating or misconduct.

“Candidates must believe in their abilities and avoid any temptation to engage in malpractice,” she advised.

According to the Ho Municipal Education Directorate, a total of 3,232 candidates have been presented for the 2026 BECE in the municipality. This figure comprises 1,541 boys and 1,691 girls, reflecting higher female participation in this year’s examination.

Statistics from the Directorate indicate that 113 schools are participating in the examination, including 76 public schools (76%) and 37 private schools (24%), demonstrating the significant contribution of both sectors to basic education in the municipality.

To ensure the smooth and credible conduct of the examination, the Directorate has established 11 examination centres across the municipality. These centres are being managed by 11 supervisors, supported by 10 assistant supervisors and 114 invigilators.

Dr. Yeboah-Adzimah emphasised that all supervisory personnel had been adequately briefed to uphold the integrity of the examination process and urged them to remain vigilant and professional in the discharge of their duties.

She also encouraged parents and guardians to provide candidates with a conducive environment and emotional support, noting that success in the examination requires both preparation and confidence.

The Municipal Education Directorate expressed confidence in the preparedness of candidates and assured the public of its commitment to ensuring a peaceful, fair, and credible examination across all centres.
