Frankfurt, Sept 15. (dpa/GNA) – Three people have died after a small aircraft, crashed into a field in the Rhineland region of western Germany.
A spokesman for the Heinsberg district police said, none of the passengers survived the incident, which took place on Monday morning.
The aircraft took off from the Netherlands, and then crashed into a field near the village of Erkelenz-Gerderath, south of Mönchengladbach.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed, the police said. Photographs show the wreckage of the Cessna at the edge of a field near several trees.
Firefighters and police were deployed at the crash site.
Germany’s agency responsible for investigating aircraft accidents has launched a preliminary inquiry in cooperation with police.
