Tema, May 11, GNA – Leaders and members of Goodness City International Church have donated assorted items to new mothers at the Tema General Hospital as part of activities marking this year’s Mother’s Day celebration.

The donation, led by the Goodness Ladies fellowship of the church, included diapers, baby wipes, detergent, washing powder, delivery pads, drinks, and other essential items to support mothers and their newborns.

Mrs Stella Serwa Akpakli, Secretary of Goodness Ladies, said the gesture formed part of the church’s commitment to demonstrating love, care, and support to mothers in line with Christian principles.

“Jesus taught us to love one another, stay united, and spread His message of salvation, peace, and care for one another. He was kind to everyone, so we are here to do the same,” she said.

Mrs Akpakli noted that motherhood was a difficult journey that required strength, patience, and support from society, especially for first-time mothers.

“We know the journey of motherhood is not a small journey, but we need them to get the strength to raise the babies as good Christians and responsible citizens of Ghana,” she stated.

She encouraged the mothers to remain steadfast in their faith and allow biblical principles to guide them in raising their children.

“They should stay strong in the Lord and remember their Christian principles. As human beings and as children, they may fall short sometimes, but we should let ourselves be guided by the Bible,” she added.

Mrs Akpakli also expressed appreciation to the Men’s Fellowship and the leadership of the church for supporting the donation exercise.

During interactions with beneficiaries, members of the church advised children to respect their mothers and refrain from insulting or labelling them negatively.

The mothers were also encouraged not to give up on their children but to continue making sacrifices for them while nurturing them in the fear of God.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the church for the support and words of encouragement, describing the gesture as timely and thoughtful.
