Assin Bereku (C/R), May 15, GNA- Mr Sylvester Amakye, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin North has advised students awaiting their results in the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to shun negative behaviours that had the tendency of endangering their lives and future.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, the DCE urged the students to eschew premarital sex, smoking, excessive intake of alcohol, teen pregnancy and pornography.
Mr Amakye expressed regret that many females were unable to complete their education due to teen pregnancy after BECE.
He encouraged the girls to be firm and strong in their decisions in life, and not to be swayed by unscrupulous men, who would take advantage of them.
To the boys, he advised them against betting, hard drugs and alcohol intake because it would take much of their time and money; and if care were not taken, they would miss their opportunity to further their education.
Mr Amakye urged them to focus on their chosen careers and be well informed about them to sharpen their skills alongside their education.
The DCE wished them well and prayed that every candidate got their preferred school.
