Assin Andoe (C/R), May 07, GNA – Mr Jonathan Birikorang, the Assin South District Chief Executive (DCE), has cut the sod for the construction of a 24-Hour Economy model market at Assin Andoe in the Central Region.
When completed, the market would consist of a day-care centre, a restaurant, police and fire stations, a clinic, cold storage units, a lorry station, lockable shops, warehouses, offices for market management and an improved sanitation system to support traders.
There would also be 24/7 banking services for traders and non-traders.
The 24-Hour Economy market forms part of President John Mahama’s nationwide “resetting agenda”, which aims at bringing government closer to citizens, engaging the grassroots and communities, and provide updates on national policies and developmental initiatives.
