Keta (VR), March 6, GNA – Mr Seth Kpodji, Keta Municipal Co-ordinating Director in the Volta Region, has called on the public, stakeholders and government to prioritise unity and economic renewal to advance the progress and development of the country.
He made the call during the 69th Municipal Independence Anniversary celebration held at the forecourt of the Keta Municipal Assembly, describing the occasion as a significant moment in the nation’s history.
Mr Kpodji, in his address, described the celebration as a powerful reminder of the bravery, sacrifices and unwavering determination of Ghanaian ancestors who fought tirelessly to secure freedom and self-determination for the country.


“This year’s celebration is on the theme ‘Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,’ a message that underscores the shared responsibility of citizens to strengthen the economy, foster unity and restore confidence in the future of the nation,” he said.
He highlighted the importance of collective effort in achieving national development and urged all sectors of society to work together towards economic growth and social cohesion.
Mr Kpodji commended schools, security services, media organisations and other institutions that participated in the parade for their commitment and discipline, noting that their involvement embodied the spirit of patriotism and national pride associated with the celebration.
He emphasised that the parade showcased the dedication of various municipal entities and reflected the community’s commitment to upholding the values of independence and civic responsibility.
“I call on all distinguished citizens to renew their commitment to unity, hard work and responsible citizenship as essential ingredients for building a better municipality and a stronger Ghana,” he said.
Mr Kpodji linked the anniversary celebration to the broader goal of municipal development, stressing that economic prosperity and hope could only be restored through collective action and a shared vision.


He explained that the message was intended to inspire participants to embrace the anniversary as a catalyst for renewed patriotism, economic rebuilding and unified progress in the Keta Municipality and Ghana as a whole.
A total of seven selected schools participated in the parade, including Ketasco Basic School, OLA Convent Girls Basic School, Bright Future Basic School, Tetekope Evangelical Presbyterian Basic School, Anlo State School and cadets of Keta Senior High Technical School, as well as the Keta Business College Brass Band.
Some parents, teachers and students who spoke with the Ghana News Agency expressed satisfaction with the event and applauded stakeholders for the successful and smooth organisation of the celebration.
