Moscow, July 7 (RIA Novosti/GNA) – Russia and the African Union are mutually interested in deepening comprehensive cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, including security and finance, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.
“We share a common interest in further expanding multifaceted cooperation between Russia and the African Union, as I said, in areas of mutual interest. These include security, finance, industry, trade, education, energy, and health care,” Lavrov said following political consultations with the head of the African Union Commission Mahamoud Ali Youssouf.
On Tuesday, Lavrov held political consultations with Youssouf in Addis Ababa.
The two sides held a detailed exchange of views on the current state and prospects for developing relations between Russia and the pan-African organization.
