Accra, Mar. 14, GNA – Members of the 1980 year group of the Holy Child Past Students Association (HOPSA) have marked 51 years since entering Holy Child Secondary School with a reunion and charity outreach.
The event brought together former classmates to reflect on their school days, and the values instilled during their years at the Cape Coast-based institution.
As part of the celebration, the group visited the Kressner Handmaids Children’s Home along the Amasaman–Obom Road in the Amasaman area of Accra.
The facility, managed by the Sisters of the Handmaids of the Divine Redeemer under the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, provides shelter, care and education for vulnerable children.
During the visit, members of the association joined the children and caregivers for a Mass celebrated by the Very Rev. Fr. Raymond Osei Tutu, Chancellor of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra.
The group later presented assorted essential items and an undisclosed cash donation to support the care and education of the children.
A member of the association said the reunion was also an opportunity to support vulnerable children.
“This reunion is not just about celebrating our past, but also about sharing our blessings and supporting the next generation,” she said.
The alumnae expressed appreciation for the education and values they received at Holy Child Secondary School and said those lessons continued to influence their commitment to community service.
