Kadjebi (O/R), March 11, GNA – Mr Adams Mutawakil, a former Assemblyman for the Dzindziso Electoral Area in the Kadjebi District, has declared his intention to contest for the Second Vice-Chairmanship position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akan Constituency.

He said his decision to contest the position was driven by his desire to serve the party at a higher level, improve its electoral fortunes, and contribute meaningfully to decision-making within the constituency ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Mr Mutawakil disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.

He explained that if given the mandate, he would prioritise strengthening grassroots structures, fostering unity among party members, and intensifying mobilisation efforts to expand the party’s support base across the constituency.

He said regular engagement with polling station executives, electoral area coordinators and other party faithful would be a key strategy under his leadership, to ensure effective communication and coordination within the party.

“My vision is to help reposition the party in the constituency through unity, discipline and active grassroots participation,” he said.

Mr Mutawakil indicated that his previous experience as an Assemblyman from 2019 to 2023 had equipped him with the leadership skills and grassroots connections necessary to help the party win more votes in the 2028 elections.

He said his tenure as a local government representative enabled him to interact closely with residents and understand the developmental needs and political expectations of the people, which he believed would be an advantage in mobilising support for the party.

The former Assemblyman called on delegates and party members in the constituency to support his bid, assuring them of transparent leadership, inclusiveness and commitment to the growth of the party.

He also urged party members to remain united and focused on strengthening the party’s structures to ensure victory in future elections.

Mr Mutawakil reaffirmed his commitment to working with all stakeholders within the constituency to promote the ideals and policies of the New Patriotic Party and build a stronger front ahead of the next general elections.
