Kadjebi (O/R), March 17, GNA – Public offices in Kadjebi in the Oti Region remained closed on Tuesday as the strike action by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) entered its nineth day, disrupting administrative services in the district.
A visit by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to key government institutions including the Kadjebi District Assembly, the Births and Deaths Registry, the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, and the Department of Food and Agriculture (DoFA) offices showed deserted premises with no staff present to attend to the public.
The closure of the offices has stalled routine government services, leaving residents unable to process documents, access administrative support, or seek assistance from various departments.
Mr Emmanuel Doe, Kadjebi CLOGSAG Chairman, told the GNA that members of the Association were still observing the nationwide industrial action as negotiations between the union and the government had yet to yield a resolution.

He explained that a meeting between the National Executive Council (NEC) of CLOGSAG and government officials held on Wednesday, March 11 ended inconclusively.
“As it stands now, the strike remains in force until we receive a directive from our national leadership,” Mr Doe said.
He added that members in the district were united in their decision to comply fully with the directive from the national executives until their concerns were addressed.
Mr Doe added that the NEC of CLOGSAG would engage with the government and the National Labour Commission (NLC) on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to determine the way forward.
Some residents who spoke to the GNA expressed concern over the prolonged closure of the offices, noting that the situation was affecting access to essential public services.
They appealed to the government and leadership of CLOGSAG to expedite discussions and reach an agreement that would bring the strike action to an end.
The residents stressed that the continued shutdown of public offices was causing inconvenience to people who depended on government departments for documentation, agricultural assistance, sanitation services, and other administrative needs.
CLOGSAG declared the strike over concerns related to conditions of service and other matters affecting its members across the country effective Monday, March 09.
