Hohoe (V/R), March 17, GNA – The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) nationwide strike has entered its second week with most government businesses across Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) including the Hohoe Municipal Assembly in the Volta region.
The Association began its strike on Monday, March 9, in demand of the implementation of a revised salary structure and improved service conditions.
The Ghana News Agency (GNA) has observed that most of the offices at the Assembly including Social Welfare and Community Development, Environmental Health, Cooperatives among others continued to be locked.
Mr Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) speaking to GNA disclosed that although the strike was being enforced and absence of some technocrats have made daily administration quite uneasy, offices of the Municipal Coordinating Director and accounts remained opened.
He said revenue issues were key; hence, a task force had been quickly put together to manage the daily collection of revenue.
Mr Kumi also revealed that at the beginning of the year, the Assembly brought in a revenue assessment with a third-party to also support some form of revenue generation which had been activated.
